TL;DR
This paper employs a Regge-pole model to analyze and predict the production of $J/ar{psi}$ and $ar{ ext{psi}}(2S)$ mesons in ultraperipheral collisions at the LHC, linking HERA data with LHC observations.
Contribution
It introduces a Regge-pole model for vector meson production that successfully connects HERA data with LHC ultraperipheral collision results, providing predictions for future experiments.
Findings
The model describes HERA vector meson production data accurately.
Predictions for rapidity distributions in proton-proton and lead-lead collisions are provided.
Transverse momentum distributions in nuclear coherent production are analyzed.
Abstract
By using a Regge-pole model for vector meson production (VMP), successfully describing the HERA data, we analyse the correlation between VMP cross sections in photon-induced reactions at HERA and those in ultra-peripheral collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The rapidity distributions of proton-proton collisions at 13~TeV and lead-lead collisions at 2.76 and 5.02 TeV are investigated. The transverse momentum distribution in nuclear coherent vector meson production is also addressed. Predictions for future experiments on production of and are presented.
