TL;DR
This paper reports on the search for rare decays of $B_s^0$ and $B^0$ mesons into four muons using LHCb data, setting upper limits on their branching fractions due to no observed evidence.
Contribution
First search for these specific rare $B$ meson decays into four muons, establishing new upper limits on their branching fractions.
Findings
No evidence of the six decay modes was observed.
Upper limits on branching fractions range from $1.8\times10^{-10}$ to $2.6\times10^{-9}$.
Analysis used 9 fb$^{-1}$ of LHCb proton-proton collision data.
Abstract
Searches for rare and decays into four muons are performed using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 . Direct decays and decays via light scalar and resonances are considered. No evidence for the six decays searched for is found and upper limits at the 95% confidence level on their branching fractions ranging between and are set.
