Is $\chi_{c1}(3872)$ generated from string breaking?
R. Bruschini, P. Gonz\'alez

TL;DR
This paper analyzes lattice results to show how the $ ext{X}(3872)$ can be understood as a bound state arising from mixing between quarkonium and meson-meson configurations, with a focus on string breaking effects.
Contribution
It introduces a diabatic analysis linking string breaking and mixing potentials, predicting the $ ext{X}(3872)$ as a bound state near the $D^0 ar{D}^{*0}$ threshold without extra parameters.
Findings
Predicts a $1^{++}$ bound state near the $D^0 ar{D}^{*0}$ threshold.
Establishes a relation between string breaking energy gap and string tension.
Matches lattice QCD data for bottomonium to study charmonium mixing.
Abstract
We show, from a diabatic analysis of Lattice results for string breaking, that mixing of with open-flavor meson-meson configurations may be expressed through a mixing potential which is order . A relation between the minimum string breaking energy gap and the string tension comes out naturally. Using this relation, and matching the energy gap for with Lattice QCD data, we study the mixing in the case without any additional parameter. A bound state very close below the threshold, in perfect correspondence with , is predicted.
