The $\sin2\phi_h$ azimuthal asymmetry of pion production in SIDIS within TMD factorization
Hui Li, Zhun Lu

TL;DR
This paper investigates the $ ext{sin}2 heta_h$ azimuthal asymmetry in pion production during SIDIS using TMD factorization, comparing theoretical predictions with experimental data and exploring different TMD evolution models.
Contribution
It provides a detailed calculation of the azimuthal asymmetry in SIDIS within TMD factorization, incorporating the WW-type approximation and various TMD evolution parametrizations, and compares results with experimental data.
Findings
The theoretical model describes most experimental data well.
Different TMD evolution parametrizations yield similar qualitative results.
The model fails to reproduce the asymmetry for $ ext{pi}^-$ off proton at HERMES and CLAS.
Abstract
We study the azimuthal asymmetry of charged and neutral pion productions off the longitudinally polarized nucleon targets in semi-inclusive deeply inelastic scattering (SIDIS) process within the transverse momentum dependent~(TMD) factorization. The asymmetry is contributed by the convolution of the TMD distribution and the Collins fragmentation function . We adopt the Wandzura-Wilczek-type~(WW-type) approximation for and two different parametrizations on the nonperturbative part of TMD evolution for and . We numerically estimate the asymmetry in the kinematical configurations available at HERMES, CLAS and CLAS12. It is shown that our theoretical calculation can describe the HERMES and CLAS data, except the asymmetry of the production off proton target at HERMES and CLAS. We also find that…
