One-loop structure of parton distribution for the gluon condensate and "zero modes"
Anatoly Radyushkin, Shuai Zhao

TL;DR
This paper computes one-loop corrections to the gluon condensate parton distribution function, clarifying gauge invariance and zero mode issues, and highlighting discrepancies with previous calculations.
Contribution
It provides the first consistent one-loop correction to the gluon condensate PDF using on-shell external states, addressing gauge invariance and zero mode concerns.
Findings
No zero mode delta functions found in the twist-4 gluon PDF.
Identical results obtained in Feynman and light-cone gauges.
Discrepancies with previous calculations suggest reevaluation of matrix element methods.
Abstract
We present results for one-loop corrections to the recently introduced "gluon condensate" PDF . In particular, we give expression for the -part of its evolution kernel. To enforce strict compliance with the gauge invariance requirements, we have used on-shell states for external gluons, and have obtained identical results both in Feynman and light-cone gauges. No "zero mode" terms were found for the twist-4 gluon PDF . However a term was found for the GPD at nonzero momentum transfer . Overall, our results do not agree with the original attempt of one-loop calculations of for gluon states, which sets alarm warning for calculations that use matrix elements with virtual external gluons and for lattice renormalization procedures based on their results.
