TL;DR
This paper reports the first measurements of exclusive semileptonic B decays using Belle II data, employing hadronic tagging to determine branching fractions and set upper limits, advancing understanding of B meson decay processes.
Contribution
It introduces a novel application of full-event-interpretation hadronic tagging in early Belle II data to measure specific B decay branching fractions and upper limits.
Findings
Measured $pi$ branching fraction as (8.29 ± 1.99 ± 0.46)×10^{-5}
Set 95% CL upper limits on $rho$ decays
Updated $pi$ decay branching fraction to (1.47 ± 0.29 ± 0.05)×10^{-4}
Abstract
We present a reconstruction in early data of the semileptonic decay , and first results of a reconstruction of the decays and in a sample corresponding to 62.8 fb of Belle II data using hadronic -tagging via the full-event-interpretation algorithm. We determine the total branching fractions via fits to the distribution of the square of the missing mass, and find = (8.29 1.99(stat) 0.46(syst)) . We obtain CL upper limits on the branching fractions with and . We also obtain an updated branching fraction for the decay, $\mathcal{B}(B^0 \to…
