TL;DR
This paper introduces an analytical formula that accurately predicts the inspiral duration of eccentric binary systems under gravitational-wave emission, covering a wide range of initial eccentricities with high precision.
Contribution
The paper provides a new analytical fit for inspiral duration that is accurate to within 3% across all initial eccentricities from 0 to 0.99999.
Findings
Achieves 3% accuracy in inspiral duration predictions.
Valid across eccentricities from 0 to 0.99999.
Offers a practical tool for gravitational-wave source modeling.
Abstract
I present an analytical fit to the duration of the inspiral of two point masses driven by gravitational-wave emission. The fit is accurate to within 3% over the entire range of initial eccentricities from 0 to 0.99999.
