Scalar resonances in the hadronic light-by-light contribution to the muon $(g-2)$
Luigi Cappiello, Oscar Cat\`a, Giancarlo D'Ambrosio

TL;DR
This paper calculates the scalar mesons' contribution to the muon g-2 via hadronic light-by-light scattering using a holographic five-dimensional model, finding a negative contribution dominated by the sigma(500) meson.
Contribution
It introduces a holographic model to evaluate scalar meson contributions to muon g-2, including excited states, aligning well with dispersive analysis results.
Findings
Scalar mesons contribute negatively to muon g-2.
The sigma(500) dominates the scalar contribution.
Estimated contribution is approximately -9 x 10^{-11}.
Abstract
We evaluate the contribution of scalar mesons to the hadronic light-by-light piece of the muon anomalous magnetic moment, using a warped five-dimensional model and holographic methods. We assess the contribution of the lightest, sub-GeV scalars , and together with their associated towers of excited states, which the model generates automatically. Our results point at a clearly negative contribution, overwhelmingly dominated by the meson, that we estimate at . This number is in very good agreement with the most recent determinations from dispersive analyses.
