Abhi Modak (for the ALICE Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports measurements of inclusive photon distributions at forward rapidities in p-Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV, comparing results with models and previous charged-particle data to understand particle production mechanisms.
Contribution
It provides new experimental data on inclusive photon pseudorapidity distributions in p-Pb collisions at LHC energies, including centrality dependence, and compares these with theoretical models.
Findings
Photon multiplicity distributions are measured at forward rapidity.
Results show agreement and discrepancies with Monte Carlo models.
Centrality dependence of photon production is characterized.
Abstract
We present multiplicity and pseudorapidity distributions of inclusive photons at forward rapidity in proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at = 5.02 TeV using the data obtained from Photon Multiplicity Detector (PMD) of ALICE. The centrality dependence of pseudorapidity distributions of inclusive photons is also studied. Results are compared with the previous ALICE measurements of charged-particle production and with theoretical predictions from Monte Carlo models, DPMJET and HIJING.
