TL;DR
This study examines how COVID-19 has caused lasting changes in travel behavior in the US, including increased telecommuting, online shopping, and reduced air travel, based on a longitudinal survey of nearly 3,000 respondents.
Contribution
It provides empirical evidence of pandemic-induced shifts in travel habits and preferences, highlighting expected long-term changes in telecommuting, mode choice, and air travel behaviors.
Findings
Nearly 71% of employees expect to work from home at least twice a week post-pandemic.
Auto and transit commute modes are expected to decrease by 9% and 31%, respectively.

Upon concrete evidence, our findings substantiate significantly observed and expected changes in habits and preferences.…
