TL;DR
This paper investigates the synthesis and temperature-dependent optical, dielectric, and elastic properties of fluorinated dimeric mesogens in the nematic phase, highlighting their potential for flexible electro-optical applications.
Contribution
It presents new synthesis methods and detailed property analysis of fluorinated dimers with negative dielectric anisotropy in the nematic phase.
Findings
Temperature influences optical and dielectric properties
Elastic properties vary with temperature in the nematic phase
Fluorinated dimers exhibit negative dielectric anisotropy
Abstract
We report the synthesis and the temperature dependencies of optical, dielectric, and elastic properties of four homologous dimeric mesogens in the uniaxial nematic (N) phase.
