TL;DR
This paper investigates how including bremsstrahlung and resonant production processes enhances the sensitivity of DUNE and MiniBooNE experiments to new leptophilic gauge bosons, leading to improved bounds on their couplings.
Contribution
It introduces the consideration of bremsstrahlung and resonant production in leptophilic boson searches, significantly improving existing experimental bounds.
Findings
Enhanced sensitivity to $L_{\mu}-L_e$ and $L_e-L_ au$ gauge bosons at DUNE.
Competitive constraints achieved with existing MiniBooNE data.
Significant improvement over previous bounds by including additional production mechanisms.
Abstract
New gauge bosons coupling to leptons are simple and well-motivated extensions of the Standard Model. We study the sensitivity to gauged , and both with the existing beam dump mode data of MiniBooNE and with the DUNE near detector. We find that including bremsstrahlung and resonant production of which decays to and final states leads to a significant improvement in existing bounds, especially for and for DUNE while competitive constraints can be achieved with the existing data from the MiniBooNE's beam dump run.
