TL;DR
This study measures radiative proton-capture reaction cross sections in the Cd-In region relevant to astrophysics, using experimental techniques and compares results with theoretical models to improve understanding of nucleosynthesis processes.
Contribution
It provides new experimental cross section data for $^{112,114}$Cd(p,γ) reactions within astrophysical energy ranges and compares these with advanced theoretical calculations.
Findings
Measured cross sections within Gamow windows
Deduced astrophysical S factors from experimental data
Compared experimental results with Hauser-Feshbach model predictions
Abstract
The reaction network in the neutron-deficient part of the nuclear chart around contains several nuclei of importance to astrophysical processes, such as the p-process. This work reports on the results from recent experimental studies of the radiative proton-capture reactions . Experimental cross sections for the reactions have been measured for proton beam energies residing inside the respective Gamow windows for each reaction, using isotopically enriched and targets. Two different techniques, the in-beam -ray spectroscopy and the activation method have been employed, with the latter considered necessary to account for the presence of low-lying isomers in (~keV, ~min), and ($E_{\gamma}…
