TL;DR
This study investigates the spectrum of flux tubes in pure gauge SU(3) lattice QCD, revealing detailed vibrational levels and comparing different lattice actions to understand their excitation spectra.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive analysis of high excitation flux tube spectra in SU(3) gauge theory using advanced lattice QCD techniques and operator sets.
Findings
Identification of multiple vibrational levels in flux tubes
Comparison of lattice gauge actions and anisotropies effects
Enhanced understanding of flux tube excitation spectra
Abstract
Flux tube spectra are expected to have full towers of levels due to the quantization of the string vibrations. We study a spectrum of flux tubes with static quark and antiquark sources with pure gauge lattice QCD in 3+1 dimensions up to a significant number of excitations. To go high in the spectrum, we specialize in the most symmetric case , use a large set of operators, solve the generalized eigenvalue and compare different lattice QCD gauge actions and anisotropies.
