Vinicius Gon\c{c}alves Lopes, Jo\~ao Victor L. L. Peterson, Americo, Cunha Jr

TL;DR
This study investigates how Gaussian colored noise affects the nonlinear stochastic dynamics of a piezoelectric energy harvesting system under harmonic excitation, revealing significant noise influence at higher correlation times and standard deviations.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of the impact of colored noise parameters on the system's nonlinear response, which is a novel focus in energy harvesting research.
Findings
Noise significantly affects system response at high correlation times.
System response is less affected by noise at low correlation times.
Higher noise standard deviation amplifies the system's response variations.
Abstract
This paper deals with the nonlinear stochastic dynamics of a piezoelectric energy harvesting system subjected to a harmonic external excitation disturbed by Gaussian colored noise. A parametric analysis is conducted, where the effects of the standard deviation and the correlation time of colored noise on the system response are investigated. The numerical results suggest a strong influence of noise on the system response for higher values of correlation time and standard deviation, and a low (noise level independent) influence for low values of correlation time.
