J. A. Lay, Y. Ayyad, A. O. Macchiavelli

TL;DR
This paper introduces neutron-proton Weisskopf units ($np$-WU) as a new standardized measure to analyze $np$ pairing effects in nuclear reactions along the N=Z line, applicable from oxygen to tin isotopes.
Contribution
The paper presents the concept of $np$-Weisskopf units for the first time, tailored for analyzing specific nuclear reactions and pairing effects in N=Z nuclei.
Findings
Defined $np$-Weisskopf units for relevant nuclear orbits.
Provided a framework for analyzing $np$ pairing effects.
Applicable to nuclei from $^{16}$O to $^{100}$Sn.
Abstract
We introduce the concept of neutron-proton two-particle units (-Weisskopf units) to be used in the analysis of the (He, and He) \added{reactions on nuclei} along the N=Z line. These are presented for the conditions relevant to the ) orbits expected from O to Sn. As is the case of the Weisskopf units for electromagnetic transitions, the -WU's will provide a simple, yet robust, measure of isoscalar and isovector pairing collective effects.
