Anti-symmetric clustering signals in the observed power spectrum
Jos\'e Fonseca, Chris Clarkson

TL;DR
This paper introduces an anti-symmetric estimator for large-scale structure that isolates the Doppler effect in the power spectrum, enabling precise measurements of peculiar velocities with high signal-to-noise ratios in future surveys.
Contribution
It presents a novel anti-symmetric estimator using dark matter tracers to directly measure the Doppler term in the power spectrum, improving velocity measurements.
Findings
Doppler term dominates the estimator's signal.
Signal-to-noise ratio up to ~50 in future SKAO surveys.
Estimator constrains the Euler equation effectively.
Abstract
In this paper, we study how to directly measure the effect of peculiar velocities in the observed angular power spectra. We do this by constructing a new anti-symmetric estimator of Large Scale Structure using different dark matter tracers. We show that the Doppler term is the major component of our estimator and we show that we can measure it with a signal-to-noise ratio up to using a futuristic SKAO HI galaxy survey. We demonstrate the utility of this estimator by using it to provide constraints on the Euler equation.
