Vortex Transport Entropy in cuprate superconductors and Boltzmann Constant
R. P. Huebener, H.-C. Ri

TL;DR
This paper investigates the vortex transport entropy in cuprate superconductors and finds it to be close to the Boltzmann constant, providing insights into vortex dynamics in the mixed state.
Contribution
It demonstrates that the vortex transport entropy per CuO$_2$ double layer is approximately equal to the Boltzmann constant in certain cuprate superconductors.
Findings
Vortex transport entropy is close to Boltzmann constant.
Entropy measured at maximum Nernst or Ettingshausen signal.
Results apply to specific cuprate epitaxial films.
Abstract
The vortex transport entropy in the mixed state of the cuprate superconductors YBaCuO and BiSrCaCuO at the maximum Nernst or Ettingshausen signal below is discussed. The vortex transport entropy per CuO double layer in the cuprate epitaxial films is found to be close to the Boltzmann constant.
