Gauge Symmetry Enhancement by Wilson Lines in Twisted Compactification
H. Itoyama, Yuichi Koga, Sota Nakajima

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates how Wilson lines can enhance gauge symmetry in quantum field theories with twisted compactification, using heterotic supergravity models as examples.
Contribution
It provides a straightforward realization of gauge symmetry enhancement via Wilson lines in twisted compactifications, expanding understanding in higher-dimensional theories.
Findings
Gauge symmetry enhancement achieved through Wilson lines.
Application to heterotic supergravity models.
Framework applicable to arbitrary dimensions.
Abstract
We point out a simple realization of gauge symmetry enhancement by Wilson lines in QFT with twisted compactification in extra dimensions. We illustrate this in the field contents taken from heterotic supergravity in arbitrary dimensions toroidally compactified.
