Measurement of prompt D$^{0}$, $\Lambda_{c}^{+}$, and $\Sigma_{c}^{0,++}$(2455) production in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV
ALICE Collaboration

TL;DR
This study measures the production of specific charm hadrons in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV, revealing baryon enhancement and providing new data to test charm hadronization models.
Contribution
First measurement of $ m ext{Sigma}_c^{0,++}$ production in hadronic collisions and analysis of baryon-to-meson ratios at 13 TeV.
Findings
Baryon-to-meson ratios are larger than in e+e- collisions.
Significant feed-down contribution to $ m ext{Lambda}_c^{+}$ from $ m ext{Sigma}_c$ states.
Data challenge existing charm hadronization models.
Abstract
The -differential production cross sections of prompt D, , and charmed hadrons are measured at midrapidity () in pp collisions at TeV. This is the first measurement of production in hadronic collisions. Assuming the same production yield for the three isospin states, the baryon-to-meson cross section ratios and are calculated in the transverse momentum () intervals GeV/ and GeV/. Values significantly larger than in ee collisions are observed, indicating for the first time that baryon enhancement in hadronic collisions also extends to the . The feed-down contribution to $\Lambda_{\rm…
