Light meson spectroscopy from Dalitz plot analyses of $\eta_c$ decays to $\eta' K^+ K^-$, $\eta' \pi^+ \pi^-$, and $\eta \pi^+ \pi^-$ produced in two-photon interactions
J.P.Lees (The BaBar Collaboration)

TL;DR
This study analyzes $$ decays into various meson final states via two-photon interactions, revealing new decay modes, interference effects, and scalar meson parameters, advancing understanding of light meson spectroscopy and scalar glueball identification.
Contribution
First observation of the decay $ o ' K^+ K^-$ and detailed Dalitz plot analyses providing new insights into scalar meson properties and decay dynamics.
Findings
First observation of $ o ' K^+ K^-$ decay.
Measurement of the ratio $ o ' K^+ K^-$ to $ o ' ^+ ^-$.
Identification of scalar meson resonances such as $f_0(2100)$ and $a_0(1700)$ in $$ decays.
Abstract
We study the processes , , and using a data sample of 519 recorded with the BaBar detector operating at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy collider at center-of-mass energies at and near the () resonances. This is the first observation of the decay and we measure the branching fraction . Significant interference is observed between and the non-resonant two-photon process . A Dalitz plot analysis is performed of decays to , , and . Combined with our previous analysis of $\eta_c \to…
