This paper investigates capacitor mismatch effects in SAR ADCs, introduces a matrix-based calculation method for split SAR ADCs, and proposes a new weight estimation technique to improve accuracy.
Contribution
It provides a novel matrix formulation for analyzing split SAR ADCs and introduces a new weight estimation methodology for better calibration.
Findings
Capacitor mismatch significantly affects SAR ADC performance.
The matrix formulation accurately models nodal voltages in split SAR ADCs.
The new weight estimation method enhances calibration accuracy.
Abstract
This paper presents the effect of capacitor mismatch on the weights of binary and split SAR ADC. It proposes a matrix formulation to calculate the nodal voltages for N-section split SAR ADC. The second part of the paper proposes a new weight estimation methodology.
