TL;DR
This paper models the near-threshold production cross sections of the $f_{1}(1285)$ meson in proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions at energies relevant for GSI-FAIR experiments, using fusion mechanisms and effective couplings.
Contribution
It introduces a theoretical framework for $f_{1}(1285)$ production via vector meson fusion, deriving couplings from decay data and applying it to predict cross sections near threshold energies.
Findings
Calculated differential cross sections near threshold energies.
Proposed feasible experimental detection strategies at HADES.
Validated model parameters with existing CLAS data.
Abstract
We evaluate the cross section for the and reactions at near threshold energies relevant for the HADES and PANDA experiments at GSI-FAIR. We assume that at energies close to the threshold the and fusion processes are the dominant production mechanisms. The vertex for the coupling is derived from an effective coupling Lagrangian. The coupling constant is extracted from the decay rate of using the vector-meson-dominance ansatz. We assume , equality of these two coupling constants, based on arguments from the naive quark model and vector-meson dominance. The amplitude for the fusion, supplemented by phenomenological vertex form factors…
