TL;DR
This study searches for the doubly charmed baryon $ ext{ extOmega}_{cc}^{+}$ in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV using LHCb data from 2016-2018, but finds no significant signal and sets upper limits on its production rate.
Contribution
First search for the $ ext{ extOmega}_{cc}^{+}$ baryon in the specified decay mode using LHCb data, establishing upper limits on its production relative to known decays.
Findings
No significant $ ext{ extOmega}_{cc}^{+}$ signal observed.
Upper limits on production ratio $R$ range from 0.005 to 0.11.
Constraints vary with assumed mass and lifetime of the baryon.
Abstract
A search for the doubly charmed baryon with the decay mode is performed using proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 collected by the LHCb experiment from 2016 to 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . No significant signal is observed within the invariant mass range of 3.6 to 4.0. Upper limits are set on the ratio of the production cross-section times the total branching fraction of the decay with respect to the decay. Upper limits at 95% credibility level for in the range to are obtained for different hypotheses on the mass and…
