Inclusive, prompt and non-prompt ${\rm J}/\psi$ production at midrapidity in p$-$Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV
ALICE Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports detailed measurements of inclusive, prompt, and non-prompt J/ψ production in p-Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV, providing insights into cold nuclear matter effects and b-quark production at midrapidity.
Contribution
It presents the most precise measurements to date of J/ψ production in p-Pb collisions, including separation of prompt and non-prompt components, with reduced uncertainties and comparison to theoretical models.
Findings
Inclusive J/ψ R_pPb shows suppression at certain p_T ranges.
Non-prompt J/ψ yields enable estimation of bar{b} cross sections.
Results are consistent with models including cold nuclear matter effects.
Abstract
A measurement of inclusive, prompt, and non-prompt production in pPb collisions at a nucleonnucleon centre-of-mass energy TeV is presented. The inclusive mesons are reconstructed in the dielectron decay channel at midrapidity down to a transverse momentum . The inclusive nuclear modification factor is calculated by comparing the new results in pPb collisions to a recently measured protonproton reference at the same centre-of-mass energy. Non-prompt mesons, which originate from the decay of beauty hadrons, are separated from promptly produced on a statistical basis for larger than 1.0 GeV/. These results are based on the data sample collected by the ALICE detector during the 2016 LHC pPb run, corresponding to an integrated…
