TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel jet operation on graphs inspired by algebraic geometry, exploring its effects on graph invariants like chromatic number and vertex covers.
Contribution
It defines the jet operation on graphs and investigates its impact on various graph invariants, bridging concepts from algebraic geometry and graph theory.
Findings
Jet operation affects chromatic numbers and vertex covers.
Properties like co-chordality are analyzed under jet transformations.
The study establishes foundational links between algebraic and graph-theoretic concepts.
Abstract
We define an operation of jets on graphs inspired by the corresponding notion in commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. We examine a few graph theoretic properties and invariants of this construction, including chromatic numbers, co-chordality, and vertex covers.
