Anthony Villano, Kitty Harris, Staci Brown

TL;DR
nrCascadeSim is a command-line simulation tool that generates nuclear recoil data from neutron capture, aiding detector calibration in dark matter and neutrino experiments across multiple materials.
Contribution
It introduces a versatile, open-source simulation tool specifically designed for neutron capture-induced nuclear recoil data generation in various materials.
Findings
Supports silicon, germanium, neon, and argon.
Facilitates detector calibration for dark matter and neutrino experiments.
Flexible for various applications requiring neutron capture recoil data.
Abstract
Neutron capture-induced nuclear recoils have emerged as an important tool for detector calibrations in direct dark matter detection and coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CENS). is a command-line tool for generating simulation data for energy deposits resulting from neutron capture on pure materials. Presently, silicon, germanium, neon, and argon are supported. While the software was developed for solid state detector calibration, it can be used for any application which requires simulated neutron capture-induced nuclear recoil data.
