Inclusive photon production at forward rapidities using PMD in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{\it{s}_{\rm{NN}}} = 8.16$ TeV with ALICE
Mohammad Asif Bhat (for the ALICE Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper evaluates correction techniques for photon pseudorapidity distributions at forward rapidities in p-Pb collisions at 8.16 TeV using ALICE's PMD, demonstrating their effectiveness through simulations.
Contribution
It introduces and compares the efficiency-purity and Bayesian unfolding methods for correcting photon distributions in high-energy p-Pb collisions.
Findings
Both correction methods successfully recover the true photon pseudorapidity distribution.
The Bayesian unfolding method provides more accurate results in the simulation.
The study enhances the reliability of photon measurements at forward rapidities.
Abstract
We report on the performance studies of two correction methods, namely the efficiency-purity method and the Bayesian unfolding method applied to the pseudorapidity distribution of photons. The pseudorapidity distribution of inclusive photons at forward rapidities in the range \mbox{\small } in p\textendash Pb collisions at TeV is obtained with the HIJING Monte Carlo event generator. The simulated data samples were obtained from the Photon Multiplicity Detector (PMD) in ALICE.
