F. Febres Cordero, M. Kraus, L. Reina

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new Monte Carlo event generator for top-quark pair production with a W boson at hadron colliders, incorporating next-to-leading-order QCD corrections and interfacing with Pythia8, with a focus on theoretical uncertainties and comparison of modeling schemes.
Contribution
The paper presents the implementation of NLO QCD corrections for $tar{t}W$ production in the POWHEG-BOX framework, including decay modeling and interfacing with Pythia8, now publicly available.
Findings
Subleading $oldsymbol{ ext{O}( ext{α}_s ext{α}^3)}$ contribution is sensitive to matching schemes.
Jet observables show noticeable differences across models.
Higher-order effects have a subordinate impact on physical observables.
Abstract
We present a new Monte Carlo event generator for the production of a top-quark pair in association with a boson at hadron colliders in the POWHEG-BOX framework. We consider the next-to-leading-order QCD corrections to the cross section, corresponding to the and terms in the perturbative expansion of the parton-level cross section, and model the decays of and top quarks at leading order retaining spin correlations. The fixed-order QCD calculation is further interfaced with the Pythia8 parton-shower event generator via the POWHEG method as implemented in the POWHEG-BOX. The corresponding code is now part of the public repository of the POWHEG-BOX. We perform a comparison of different event generators for both the case of inclusive production and the case of the two same-sign leptons…
