Signatures of chaotic dynamics in wave motion according to the extended KdV equation
Anna Karczewska, Piotr Rozmej

TL;DR
This paper investigates whether the extended KdV equation (KdV2) can produce chaotic wave dynamics for certain initial conditions, indicating complex deterministic behavior in surface wave evolution.
Contribution
It provides evidence that the extended KdV equation can exhibit signatures of chaos in wave motion under specific initial conditions.
Findings
Chaotic signatures observed in wave evolution
Extended KdV equation can produce deterministic chaos
Surface wave dynamics show complex behavior
Abstract
In this communication we test the hypothesis that for some initial conditions the time evolution of surface waves according to the extended KdV equation (KdV2) exhibits signatures of the deterministic chaos.
