TL;DR
This study assesses the potential to detect $CP$ violation in tau decays at the Super Tau Charm Facility, estimating sensitivity levels and demonstrating the feasibility of such measurements with projected luminosities.
Contribution
It provides a detailed feasibility analysis of measuring $CP$ violation in $ au^{-} o K_{S} o u_{ au}$ decays at STCF, including sensitivity estimates and simulation methods.
Findings
Sensitivity of order 9.7×10⁻⁴ with 1 ab⁻¹ luminosity
Sensitivity improves to 3.1×10⁻⁴ with 10 ab⁻¹
Energy-dependent efficiencies are characterized and modeled
Abstract
We report a feasibility study of violation of decay at a Super Tau Charm Facility~(STCF).With an expected luminosity of 1~ab collected by STCF per year at a center-of-mass energy of 4.26 GeV, the statistical sensitivity for the violation is determined to be of order by measuring the decay-rate difference between and . The analysis is performed using a reliable fast simulation software package, which can describe the detector responses properly and vary the responses flexibly for further optimization. Moreover, the energy-dependent efficiencies for reconstructing are presented and the expected sensitivity is proportional to in the energy…
