TL;DR
This paper classifies negative parity $\\Xi'_{c/b}$ and $\\Xi_{c/b}$ baryons, calculates their decay widths, and suggests assignments for recent LHCb states, providing predictions testable by future experiments and comparing quark models.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive classification, decay width calculations, and quantum number assignments for $\\Xi_{c/b}$ baryons, including recent LHCb observations, with model comparisons.
Findings
Predicted masses and widths for $\\Xi_b$ D-wave excitations.
Suggested quantum number assignments for new LHCb states.
Comparison between three-quark and quark-diquark models.
Abstract
In this article, we present a complete classification of the negative parity and -wave states: 7 belonging to the flavor sextet and 7 to the flavor anti-triplet, the calculation of the and strong partial decay widths into , , , , , and channels both within the Elementary Emission Model (EEM) and the model, and the calculation of the electromagnetic decay widths for and radiative decays. By means of the equal-spacing mass rule and by the analysis of the strong partial decay widths, we suggest possible assignments for the new LHCb , , and states, as well as for the 's previously reported by Belle and BaBar.
