TL;DR
This paper studies the transverse polarization of Lambda hyperons in electron-positron collisions using TMD factorization, employing a spectator diquark model and comparing predictions with Belle data.
Contribution
It provides a numerical estimate of Lambda polarization using a spectator diquark model within TMD factorization and explores the impact of different nonperturbative Sudakov form factors.
Findings
Prediction matches Belle data for Lambda pi+ and anti-Lambda pi- polarization.
Discrepancies observed in Lambda pi- and Lambda K± channels.
Discussion on potential improvements for future calculations.
Abstract
We investigate the transverse polarization of the hyperon in the processes and within the framework of the transverse momentum dependent~(TMD) factorization. The transverse polarization is contributed by the convolution of the transversely polarizing fragmentation function~(PFF) of the lambda hyperon and the unpolarized fragmentation function of pion/kaon. We adopt the spectator diquark model result for to numerically estimate the transverse polarization in process at the kinematical region of Belle Collaboration. To implement the TMD evolution formalism of the fragmentation functions, we apply two different parametrizations on the nonperturbative Sudakov form factors associated with the fragmentation functions of the , pion…
