Examining the validity of Schatten-$p$-norm-based functionals as coherence measures
Xiao-Dan Cui, C. L. Liu, D. M. Tong

TL;DR
This paper investigates the validity of Schatten-$p$-norm-based functionals as coherence measures in quantum information, establishing which are valid under various incoherent operation classes and providing counterexamples.
Contribution
It rigorously analyzes the validity of Schatten-$p$-norm-based coherence measures under different incoherent operations, clarifying their applicability and limitations.
Findings
$ ilde{C}_1( ho)$ is valid under strictly and genuinely incoherent operations
$C_1( ho)$ is invalid under genuinely incoherent operations
$C_{p>1}( ho)$ and $ ilde{C}_{p>1}( ho)$ are invalid under all examined operations
Abstract
It has been asked by different authors whether the two classes of Schatten--norm-based functionals and with are valid coherence measures under incoherent operations, strictly incoherent operations, and genuinely incoherent operations, respectively, where is the set of incoherent states and is the diagonal part of density operator . Of these questions, all we know is that is not a valid coherence measure under incoherent operations and strictly incoherent operations, but all other aspects remain open. In this paper, we prove that (1) is a valid coherence measure under both strictly incoherent operations and genuinely incoherent operations but not a valid coherence measure under incoherent operations, (2)…
