Building bulk from Wilson loops
Koji Hashimoto

TL;DR
This paper presents formulas to reconstruct bulk spacetime metrics from Wilson loop data in holography, showing that confinement implies a specific IR structure in the bulk.
Contribution
It introduces a method to derive bulk metrics from Wilson loop expectation values and proves that confinement guarantees an IR bottom in the bulk geometry.
Findings
Formulas for bulk metric reconstruction from Wilson loops
Proof that confinement implies a bulk IR bottom
Establishment of a link between quark potential and bulk geometry
Abstract
We provide formulas for holographically building a bulk metric from given expectation values of rectangular Wilson loops. As a corollary, we prove that any confining quark potential necessarily leads to the existence of a bulk IR bottom.
