TL;DR
This paper presents a string theory framework for realizing 3D $ ext{SU}$ quiver gauge theories with $ ext{N}=4$ supersymmetry, using type IIA and IIB string theory constructions, including Hanany-Witten setups and mirror symmetry.
Contribution
It introduces a novel string theory realization of special unitary quiver gauge theories in three dimensions, connecting type IIA and IIB perspectives and deriving mirror duals.
Findings
String theory realization of 3D SU quiver gauge theories.
Explicit construction of mirror symmetry duals.
Examples illustrating the dualities and realizations.
Abstract
We propose a string theory realization of three-dimensional quiver gauge theories with special unitary gauge groups. This is most easily understood in type IIA string theory with D4-branes wrapped on holomorphic curves in local K3's, by invoking the St\"uckelberg mechanism. From the type IIB perspective, this is understood as simply compactifying the familiar Hanany-Witten (HW) constructions on a . The mirror symmetry duals are easily derived. We illustrate this with various examples of mirror pairs.
