A concise and critical literature review on approaches for the modelling of the deformation behavior of soils subjected to cyclic loads
Anteneh Biru Tsegaye

TL;DR
This paper reviews current modeling approaches for soil deformation under cyclic loads, classifying methods into implicit and explicit categories, discussing their features and limitations.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive classification and critical analysis of existing models for cyclic soil deformation, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses.
Findings
Models are broadly classified into implicit and explicit categories.
Limitations of various modeling approaches are identified.
The review offers insights into future research directions.
Abstract
This paper focuses on state-of-the art of various approaches for the modelling of deformation behavior of soils when subjected to cyclic loading. The various approaches are broadly classified into implicit and explicit. Models within each category are discussed and some of their limitations are pointed out.
