$\psi$(4040) and $Y(4008)$ decay widths in hot and dense strange hadronic matter
Rahul Chhabra

TL;DR
This study calculates the decay widths of $ ext{ψ}(4040)$ and $Y(4008)$ in hot, dense strange hadronic matter, revealing in-medium effects on their decay modes and aiding in spectroscopic state identification.
Contribution
It introduces a detailed evaluation of in-medium decay widths of excited charmonium states using the $^3P_0$ model with in-medium meson masses from chiral SU(3) and QCD sum rules.
Findings
In-medium decay widths vary significantly with density and temperature.
One state dominates over the other in specific decay channels in the medium.
Results assist in clarifying the spectroscopic nature of $Y(4008)$.
Abstract
In the present investigation, we evaluate the in-medium partial decay widths of exited states (4040) and (4008) decaying to the pairs of non-strange pseudoscalar mesons, strange pseudoscalar mesons, non-strange vector meson and pseudoscalar-vector mesons using model. The in-medium effects are incorporated through the in-medium masses of daughter mesons (calculated using the chiral SU(3) model and QCD sum rule approach in our previous works). We consider (4040) and (4008) states as 3 states and observe the in-medium dominance of one state over the other for a given decay mode. The results of the present investigation will prove as one step forward in assigning the correct spectroscopic state to controversial (4008) state.
