TL;DR
This paper introduces the concept of generalised pairs in birational algebraic geometry, discussing their development, applications, and open problems in the field.
Contribution
It presents a new perspective on generalised pairs and explores their recent applications and unresolved questions.
Findings
Generalised pairs have been effectively applied in recent birational geometry research.
The paper highlights open problems related to the theory of generalised pairs.
It offers a conceptual framework for understanding the evolution of space notions in algebraic geometry.
Abstract
In this note we introduce generalised pairs from the perspective of the evolution of the notion of space in birational algebraic geometry. We describe some applications of generalised pairs in recent years and then mention a few open problems.
