TL;DR
This study uses lattice QCD to analyze $K ext{pi}$ scattering, extracting resonance properties of $kappa$ and $K^*$, providing insights into their masses and widths at different pion masses.
Contribution
First lattice QCD determination of $K ext{pi}$ scattering amplitudes in $S$- and $P$-waves, including resonance pole positions for $kappa$ and $K^*$.
Findings
Determined $kappa$ resonance poles at different pion masses.
Extracted $K^*$ resonance parameters and couplings.
Provided scattering amplitudes as functions of energy.
Abstract
We present a lattice-QCD determination of the elastic isospin- -wave and -wave scattering amplitudes as a function of the center-of-mass energy using L\"uscher's method. We perform global fits of -matrix parametrizations to the finite-volume energy spectra for all irreducible representations with total momenta up to ; this includes irreps that mix the - and -waves. Several different parametrizations for the energy dependence of the -matrix are considered. We also determine the positions of the nearest poles in the scattering amplitudes, which correspond to the broad resonance in the -wave and the narrow resonance in the -wave. Our calculations are performed with dynamical clover fermions for two different pion masses of and MeV. Our preferred -wave parametrization is based…
