Pietro Colangelo, Fulvia De Fazio, Francesco Loparco

TL;DR
This paper analyzes inclusive semileptonic Lambda_b decays within the Standard Model and beyond, considering polarization effects and potential new physics operators affecting decay observables.
Contribution
It extends the theoretical framework to include D=6 semileptonic operators in the Standard Model effective Hamiltonian for Lambda_b decays, including polarization effects.
Findings
Quantitative predictions for decay rates and distributions.
Impact of new operators on observables.
Polarization effects in Lambda_b decays.
Abstract
Inclusive semileptonic decays of beauty baryons are studied using the heavy quark expansion to , at leading order in . The case of a polarized decaying baryon is examined, with reference to . An extension of the Standard Model effective Hamiltonian inducing transitions ( and ) is considered, which comprises the full set of D=6 semileptonic operators with left-handed neutrinos. The effects of the new operators in several observables are described.
