TL;DR
This paper demonstrates a real-time 112 Gbit/s DMT transmission system suitable for data center interconnects, comparing dispersion mitigation techniques over distances up to 60 km.
Contribution
It introduces a high-speed real-time DMT system for DCI with a comparison of chromatic dispersion mitigation methods.
Findings
Achieved 112 Gbit/s real-time data transmission over 60 km.
Compared vestigial sideband filtering with dispersion compensating fiber.
Identified effective dispersion mitigation techniques for high-speed DCI.
Abstract
We report on 112 Gbit/s real-time DMT transmission over up to 60 km, targeted at DCI applications. Chromatic dispersion mitigation by vestigial sideband filtering is compared to the use of dispersion compensating fiber.
