TL;DR
This paper reports a search for $CP$ violation in a specific charm baryon decay using model-independent methods on LHCb data, finding no evidence of $CP$ violation.
Contribution
It introduces a novel application of model-independent techniques to search for $CP$ violation in $oldsymbol{ ext{Xi}_c^+}$ decays using Dalitz plot analysis.
Findings
Data are consistent with no $CP$ violation.
First application of model-independent methods in this decay channel.
Utilizes 3.0 fb$^{-1}$ of LHCb data at 7 and 8 TeV.
Abstract
A first search for violation in the Cabibbo-suppressed decay is performed using both a binned and an unbinned model-independent technique in the Dalitz plot. The studies are based on a sample of proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of , and collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of and . The data are consistent with the hypothesis of no violation.
