QCD analysis of electromagnetic Dalitz decays $J/\psi\rightarrow\eta^{(\prime)}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$
Jun-Kang He, Chao-Jie Fan

TL;DR
This paper calculates the transition form factors and branching ratios for electromagnetic Dalitz decays of J/psi into eta and eta' mesons with leptons, using a combined perturbative and soft QCD approach, and finds good agreement with experimental data.
Contribution
First calculation of transition form factors over full kinematic range for these decays using a combined QCD framework, including soft, perturbative, and resonance contributions.
Findings
Transition form factors are insensitive to eta and eta' distribution amplitudes.
Predicted branching ratios agree with experimental data.
Resonance contributions are negligible compared to perturbative QCD.
Abstract
The electromagnetic Dalitz decays with large recoil momentum are studied in the framework of perturbative QCD. Meanwhile, the soft contributions from the small recoil momentum region are described by the overlap of soft wave functions, and the resonance contributions are estimated by the vector meson dominance model. Based on this dynamical picture, the transition form factors in full kinematic region are calculated for the first time, and we find that the transition form factors are insensitive to the shapes of distribution amplitudes. Our prediction of the normalized transition form factor agrees well with its experimental data. In addition, we also find that the branching ratios…
