TL;DR
This paper evaluates the branching fractions of B meson decays into orbitally excited charmed mesons using a constituent quark model, aligning theoretical predictions with recent BaBar experimental results.
Contribution
It introduces a two-step constituent quark model approach to calculate semileptonic B decays into excited charmed mesons, matching experimental data.
Findings
The model's predictions agree with BaBar measurements.
The approach effectively describes the decay processes involving excited charmed mesons.
Provides a theoretical framework for future decay studies.
Abstract
The BaBar Collaboration has recently reported branching fractions for semileptonic decays of the meson into final states with charged and neutral and , two narrow orbitally excited charmed mesons. We evaluate these branching fractions within the framework of a constituent quark model in two steps, one which involves a semileptonic decay and the other one mediated by a strong process. Our results are in agreement with the experimental data.
