Thermal order in holographic CFTs and no-hair theorem violation in black branes
Alex Buchel

TL;DR
This paper explores holographic models where thermal phases of boundary CFTs exhibit spontaneous symmetry breaking, and their dual black branes in AdS violate the no-hair theorem, revealing novel gravitational phenomena.
Contribution
It introduces a broad class of holographic models with symmetry-breaking thermal phases and demonstrates black branes violating the no-hair theorem in AdS.
Findings
Black branes violate the no-hair theorem.
Thermal phases exhibit spontaneous symmetry breaking.
New gravitational phenomena in holography.
Abstract
We present a large class of holographic models where the boundary dimensional conformal field theory has a thermal phase with a spontaneously broken global symmetry. The dual black branes in a Poincare patch of asymptotically violate the no-hair theorem.
