Four-jet double parton scattering production in proton-nucleus collisions within the PYTHIA8 framework
Oleh Fedkevych, Leif L\"onnblad

TL;DR
This paper investigates four-jet double parton scattering in proton-nucleus collisions using PYTHIA8, showing enhanced cross sections due to double absorptive processes and analyzing how nuclear activity influences A-scaling behavior.
Contribution
It demonstrates that PYTHIA8's Angantyr model accurately predicts double parton scattering enhancements and explores the impact of nuclear activity on A-scaling in pA collisions.
Findings
Double absorptive processes increase the double parton scattering cross section.
PYTHIA8's predictions align with earlier theoretical models.
Nuclear activity growth affects A-scaling of the cross section.
Abstract
We present our studies of four-jet double parton scattering production in proton-nucleus collisions within the framework of the PYTHIA8 event generator. We demonstrate that double absorptive processes in pA generated by the Angantyr model in PYTHIA8 give an enhancement of the total double parton scattering cross section similar to the predictions by Strikman and Treleani in 2001. Additionally, we discuss how the growth of activity in a direction of a nucleus affects an A-scaling of a total double parton scattering cross section in proton-nucleus collisions.
