Characteristics of an Online Controlled Experiment: Preliminary Results of a Literature Review
Florian Auer, Michael Felderer

TL;DR
This paper presents preliminary findings from a literature review on the characteristics of online controlled experiments, synthesizing 14 studies into a comprehensive model to understand their defining features.
Contribution
It introduces a synthesized model that consolidates various characteristics used to define continuous online experiments based on a review of existing literature.
Findings
Developed a model summarizing experiment characteristics
Identified key features used in online controlled experiments
Reviewed 14 relevant research papers
Abstract
In this paper the preliminary results of a literature review on characteristics used to define continuous experiments are presented. In total 14 papers were selected. The results were synthesized into a model that gives an overview of all characteristics.
