Brauer class over the Picard scheme of totally degenerate stable curves
Qixiao Ma

TL;DR
This paper investigates the Brauer class associated with the Picard scheme of totally degenerate stable curves, focusing on its period and index to understand obstructions to tautological line bundles.
Contribution
It determines the period and index of the Brauer class in specific cases, advancing understanding of obstructions in the Picard scheme of degenerate curves.
Findings
Calculated the period of the Brauer class in certain cases
Determined the index of the Brauer class for specific stable curves
Provided insights into obstructions to tautological line bundles
Abstract
We study the Brauer class rising from the obstruction to the existence of tautological line bundles on the Picard scheme of curves. We determine the period and index of the Brauer class in certain cases.
