Absorption of $\omega$ and $\phi$ mesons in the inclusive photonuclear reaction
Swapan Das

TL;DR
This paper investigates how $$ and $$ mesons are absorbed in nuclei by analyzing their nuclear transparency ratios in photonuclear reactions, providing insights into their in-medium interactions.
Contribution
The study calculates nuclear transparency ratios for $$ and $$ mesons and compares them with experimental data to estimate their in-medium nucleon cross sections.
Findings
Calculated transparency ratios agree with experimental data.
Estimated meson-nucleon cross sections in the nuclear medium.
Provided insights into medium modifications of mesons.
Abstract
The and mesons dominantly decay outside the nucleus because the decay-lengths of them are much larger than the dimension of the nucleus. Therefore, the medium modification of the above mesons is studied through their absorption in the nucleus. CLAS collaboration at Jefferson Laboratory (Jlab) has investigated the absorption of the and mesons by measuring the nuclear transparency ratios for them in the reaction. The nuclear transparency ratios for both and mesons in the above reactions have been calculated, and those are compared with the experimental findings, reported from Jlab, to estimate the meson nucleon and meson nucleon cross sections in the nucleus.
